Catalyst for Consciousness Liberation

With over three decades of experience spanning the fashion industry and consciousness science across 20 countries, Bassam presents an integral example of ancient wisdom and modern solution-focused neuroplasticity. As a Consciousness Liberation Guide & Trauma Healing expert, he helps aspiring individuals and high achievers to break free from the limitations of societal norms to rediscover their lasting peace and authetnic self-expression

Glimpse Of The Past

Born in Lebanon and raised during the civil war, Bassam's early life was marked by war, survival, and displacement. Fleeing to the West at the age of 12, he struggled with PTSD and cultural differences in the new world, seeking guidance in spiritual texts in second-hand bookshops, laying the foundation for his transformative work.

Unlikley Career In Fashion

Simultaneously, Bassam pursued an international career as a fashion model for some two decades. Throughout, he practiced daily meditation and spiritual books accompanied him on fashion shoots around the world.

Making Of A New World

At 23, in Paris, Bassam experienced a profound shift in perception during reading the book Making a New World by John Bennett, student of the teacher, G. I. Gurdjieff.

“I became insomniac and on the 4th night, struggling with exhaustion, I had the urge to write on a piece of paper, ‘today I am born,’ promptly falling asleep immediately after.”

In retrospect Bassam saw this experience as the time his soul was awakended from spiritual slumber.

Bali

Three years later, Bassam experienced a second ‘shift’. This time in Ubud, reading another spiritual text. Glancing up to took at the volcanoes in the distance, his attention suddenly recoiled within, experiencing unimaginable tranquility and peace.

From Model To Mystic

In 2001, Bassam had grown disenchanged with the spiritual emptiness of the glamour world and made a radical decision to leave. Certifying as a holistic therapist and life coach, he set up a private practice and began to run group meditation circles in community centres in Sydney.

It wasn't a smooth transition, however, as he wrestled with doubt, wondering if he could succeed in his emerging spiritual path. With each certification, he forged ahead.

“It wasn't just a career change—it was a profound personal recalibration that I needed to have, healing issues related to authority and leardership along the way.”

An Unexpected Turn Of Events

Late 2009, preparing to travel to India to study with Rebirthing Breathwork pioneer Leonard Orr, Bassam received a call from Cranbrook School, Sydney.

“I’d just finished viewing a documentary on Vipassana Meditation taught in prisons and thought, "it should also be taught in schools," when the phone rang. Introducing himself as the person responsible for human resources at Cranbrook, he asked if I' would be interested in facilitating the mindfulness program at the school!

The Great Awakening

in 2013, after 3.5 years at Cranbrook, petitioning policymakers to include meditation in the Australian school curriculum and running a busy life coaching practice, Bassam turned his back on his growing success, and decided to travel.

He was living the proverbial dream, but in spite of his outward progress he felt deeply disillusioned and discontented. The turning point came one early morning on Bondi Beach, when, lamenting the lack of meaning he felt, his attention unexpectedly recoiled inwardly just as it had done in Bali, and was once again immersed in that familiar underlying peace.

“It’s as if the external world did an about turn and everything was now pointing at me and reference my reality.”

Bassam realized two fundamental things, one that he’d been trying to “buy his way to heaven”, using spiritual practice to validate his worth. and two, happiness is a product of self realisation not sense gratification.

On The Road Again

Bassam travelled non-stop for 5 years, visiting 20 countries and facilitating over 90 Spiritual Empowerment workshops and retreats.

"Breathwork, coupled with meditation leads to heaven" - The Upanishads

His work attracted notable clients across various high-performance domains, including:

  • Gautier Ballet School, Stuttgart

  • Portuguese Women's National Volleyball Team

  • Patrick Fisher, Swiss Men's National Ice Hockey Team

In 2018, Bassam returned to Sydney to focus on refining his teachings and creating effective frameworks.

His pioneering concept of "The Stunting of Human Consciousness" illuminates how birth trauma and early conditioning fundamentally impact our ability to perceive the real world. His insights crystallized into his program The Conscious Liberation Method, that addresses root causes of human misperception and suffering, “not merely trimmingleaves,” as he says.
